Product Description

The ReFa STRAIGHT IRON PRO features the Carbon Layer Plate. ReFa designed it to manage water, heat, and pressure while straightening — factors the brand identifies as key to reducing hair damage. Applying heat to hair while moisture remains on it can cause a water vapor explosion that damages the cuticle. The plate uses a three-layer structure — high-density carbon, a heater, and a low-rebound coating — to moderate heat transfer and help prevent water vapor explosions during use.

The low-rebound coating on the plate surface adheres gently to the hair as it glides through, which is intended to help prevent hair from being crushed during straightening. Heat-sensing technology built into both plates detects and adjusts temperature to distribute heat evenly across the hair.
